Hi guys, In this blog, I am gonna write about the difference between web1.0, web2.0, and web3.0.

well if you don't know the difference and are curious to know just read this blog it will give you a brief overview.

In order to understand web1.0, let me take you to the late 90s and early 20s the time between 1990 and 2000 when web 1.0 was at boom and people who had a website with their name were a great sign of a personal brand, but you know what web1.0 was a way boring form of the internet because it had no interaction and engagement, the time of static websites where a developer built a simple static webpage put some text-based information which is permanent and not updating dynamically. and other who visits websites can only read that information, not more than.

and then in the mid-'20s web 2.0 came into the picture when social networking sites like Facebook, google, and youtube give power to the user to not just read the content but also be able to create their own. it is amazing this is what we use today full of interaction, engagement with anybody in the world, dynamically updating data and so many awesome things.

but there is a problem with web 2.0. the problem of privacy because whatever content we create on any website gets stored in the server of those websites.

for eg. if you search for anything on google your searched keyword will get stored in the google server, you post anything on Instagram, Facebook it gets stored in meta's server if you buy anything from amazon it gets stored in the amazon server. and these use our data to grow their business, they gather a large amount of data and recommend those things to us that we need currently and that's how to recommend system works.

apart from this, there are some other problems as well. for eg. as data stored is centralized in particular places there is a chance of data might get hacked.

even not just sharing information but even to share money we depend on banks and governments and when these companies made bad decisions and shut down, we as a people had to face problems.

and that problem, web3.0 is solving. Web 3.0 is a decentralizing network of computers where data is not stored at a particular place instead it is stored in a decentralized distributed network of chains where we as a user have more power over our data and the content that we create.

we even don't need these platforms to use the internet anymore, which means these big companies find difficulties in gathering large amounts of data and using it for their own business.

isn't it amazing how this works? stay tuned for the next blog about simplifying web3.0
